Eli Roth has admitted that he was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of horror movies released over the course of last year. The Inglourious Basterds actor cited the likes of Let Me In, Monsters and Paranormal Activity 2 as some of his 2010 highlights.
“Paranormal Activity 2 I really, really liked. That movie was really scary,” Roth told DS at this weekend’s Jameson Empire Movie Awards. “I actually saw it with Marilyn Manson and we were kind of cringing in each other’s arms.
“We were jumping like school girls, it was fun. We’ve both seen everything so we don’t think we’re getting that scared, and then we see something that scares us,” he added. “It’s hard to scare us because we’re pretty inured.”

A pretty amazing trailer has been spreading like wildfire across the Web. Inside you’ll find the teaser for Clown, a fun little Halloween treat from horror icon Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever). The footage was put together by Waverly Flams, a group of several filmmakers from Brooklyn. Fun stuff! It features a dad who puts on a clown costume for his kid’s birthday, only to have it transform into an evil clown creature. “That’s not funny daddy…” Hilarious! (Source)

Ashley Bell saved the producers of The Last Exorcism a lot of money. That’s because the star was able to perform the neck twisting and back-bending moves without the help of any special effects. (Source)
“I did it all myself. I wish I could say I’m a hologram but I did it all myself,” Bell told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the Los Angeles premiere of the film. “Now I feel like I’m stuck. Like every time I go to audition for something, I have to do a back-bend and then read the sides.”
So how did the star prepare for her role as a possessed person? “I read every single book I could find on exorcisms that hadn’t been banned,” she said. “Going into it the director [Daniel Stamm] said to watch all the exorcist movies and then don’t do that. So we were immediately set to do something different and go our own way.”
The film’s producer and famed horror director, Eli Roth, stopped and crashed Bell’s interview to rave about her performance. “I want an Oscar stat for Ashley Bell,” Roth said.
