To celebrate the DVD and Blu-ray release of the No 1 Box Office smash – The Last Exorcism out to own NOW, we have teamed up with Optimum Home Entertainment to give three lucky winners the chance to win a box set of horror DVD titles including Don’t Look Now, The Devil’s Backbone, The Host, The Orphanage and The Last Exorcism.

From producer Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever) THE LAST EXORCISM is a terrifying horror film in the tradition of THE EXORCIST and shot in the unique style of Paranormal Activity and The Blair Witch Project.

After a career spent helping the devout through prayer and trickery, Reverend Marcus (PATRICK FABIAN) invites a film crew to document his final fraudulent days as an exorcist. Soon his faith is truly tested when a desperate plea from the father of a possessed girl (ASHLEY BELL) brings him face to face with evil itself.

To be in with a chance of winning this prize, all you need to do is answer the following question –

Who is the producer of The Last Exorcism? Was it:

According to director Joe Dante, his 70s romp Piranha (the definitive Roger Corman-stable cash-in) was deemed by Steven Spielberg to be a homage to Jaws rather than a rip-off, thereby saving it from the attentions of the studio’s over-zealous lawyers.

Enlivened by the punky wit of John Sayles’s script and boasting a cheesily cheerful trashploitation aesthetic, Piranha spawned an equally silly sequel which gave James Cameron his big break, and was thus indirectly responsible for Avatar; goes around, comes around! Alexandre Aja’s modern reboot Piranha 3D (2010, Entertainment, 18) has its eye firmly on the nostalgic “guilty pleasure” market, with stereoscopic gore, gratuitous nudity, and knowing crass-appeal defined by the appearances of Richard Dreyfuss and Eli Roth.

Both DVD and Blu-ray come with 2- and 3-D versions of the feature, with 2-pairs of red/green glasses for authentic old-school squinty headaches.

Synopsis
Every year the population of sleepy Lake Victoria explodes from 5,000 to 50,000 for Spring Break, a riot of sun and drunken fun. But this year, there’s something more to worry about than hangovers and complaints from local old timers; a new type of terror is about to be cut loose on Lake Victoria. After a sudden underwater tremor sets free scores of the prehistoric man-eating fish, an unlikely group of strangers must band together to stop themselves from becoming fish food for the area’s new razor-toothed residents.

PIRANHA was written by Peter Goldfinger (Sorority Row) & Josh Stolberg (Sorority Row). It was produced by Alexandre Aja (P2), Mark Canton (300, Letters to Juliet), Gregory Levasseur (Mirrors, P2) and Marc Toberoff (Bottle Shock, It’s Alive). Below is a video from the red carpet of the New York Friars Club Roast of Quentin Tarantino. Various friends of Quentin can be seen getting the jokes and party started early on the red carpet. Take a look below:

Eli attended The New York Friars Club Roast of Quentin Tarantino on December 1st. Also in attendance were Kristin Chenoweth, Neve Campbell, Rosario Dawson, Howard Stern, Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson and the man himself, Quentin Tarantino.

The most notable of the first several roasters was filmmaker Eli Roth, who starred in Tarantino’s critically acclaimed Inglorious Basterds. Roth was searing. He went there. His remarks were biting and off color, catching many in the audience off guard. It wasn’t a cringe-worthy performance but it was an all-out assault on ears not yet tuned to the vicious nature of a Friars roast. It was a “shock-and-awe” campaign that set the table and the bar for everyone else on the dais. Roth’s routine, while expertly delivered, would probably have played better later in the proceedings because the material was far funnier than the crowd was ready to hear. That being said, the audience was fully desensitized from that point forward.
