2012 just may shape up to be a busy year for Eli! Producer Brian Oliver gave a brief update surrounding two Eli Roth projects: Aftershock and Clown. Take a look below.
“After Ron Howard’s Rush, we have two Eli Roth projects that we are doing. One is called The Aftershock, which is kind of this disaster horror movie that deals with an earthquake in Chile. We want to do that in the first quarter of next year. We then have Clown with Eli Roth, which we want to do immediately after that. That’s a haunted clown genre picture that Eli is producing.”
Oliver said that Roth isn’t directing either picture, but he’s writing and possibly starring in Clown. As for Roth’s next directorial feature, Oliver said that he’s “just working on the script and then I think early next year he will be directing it.” So it sounds like we may see three Eli Roth projects in 2012. Brains splattered, eyes pulled from their sockets, guts spilled, bones shattered, screams silenced – and that’s just one scene. Blood, guts and gore add the shock factor to your favourite horror films, and without shock, there would be no horror. Blogomatic3000.com has compiled their list of Top Ten ‘Gore Galore’ Horror Films.
#6. Hostel: Part II (Eli Roth, 2007)
Taking out our top spot is the twisted offspring of the mother of all torture movies. Every person that undergoes horrific torture in this thriller does so with extreme pain, violence and gore. In this scene, the captured man has his “man-hood” slowly cut off and pulled out of his pants. Warning – do not watching the following video if you want to keep your food down.

The nominees of the 2011 Spike’s Scream Awards have officially been announced! Fans can vote for their favourite films and stars with the winners being announced October 18th. Although Eli wasn’t personally nominated, the film Piranha 3D was!

Last night, Universal Studios celebrated the opening of its Halloween Horror Nights with the Eyegore Awards – the annual ceremony which honors the creme de la creme of the horror genre.
Emceed by Corey Feldman, the evening brought us appearances by Rob Zombie, Thomas Jane, James Gunn, Adam Green, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Calico Cooper, and Brian Gott (the Publisher of Variety) as this year’s batch of Eyegore Awards were presented to the HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES star Rainn Wilson, SCREAM stars David Arquette and Jamie Kennedy, DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK star Bailee Madison, FROZEN star Emma Bell, and the great Alice Cooper.
The Eyegore’s weren’t the only excitement of the evening, though. Chainsaws revved throughout the night as blood-covered clowns roamed Universal, terrorizing guests as they made their way to the park’s six screamtacular mazes (The Thing: Assimilation, Eli Roth’s Hostel: Hunting Season, Alice Cooper: Welcome to My Nightmare, Rob Zombie’s House of 1,000 Corpses, La Llorona: Villa De Almas Perdidas, The Wolfman: The Curse of Talbot Hall) as well as the park’s Five “Scare Zones,” the Terror Tram: Scream 4 Your Life, and Bill & Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure.
Halloween Horror Nights will continue to run from 7pm to 2am on select dates as follows: September 24th and 30th. October 1st, 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th, 21st.
Famous Monsters will be delivering more in depth coverage of the Eyegore Awards and the Halloween Horror Nights throughout the week, so be sure to keep checking in every day for more tasty tidbits!
